Pretreatment

We offer a range of pretreatment services for both ferrous and non ferrous materials including new and refinishing work.

Steel Primer: We offer primer coatings for general steel surface preparation applied to both powder coating and wet spray systems. Steel primers provide additional corrosion resistance and improve the appearance of decorative top coat finishes.

Zinc Rich Primer: We offer primer coatings with added zinc designed to give enhanced corrosion protection of mild steel. Zinc rich primers enhance corrosion resistance considerably and can demonstrate heightened performance characteristics in both mechanical tests such as cross hatching and chemical tests such as salt spray testing.

Etch Primer: Two pack etch primer coatings are used for the pretreatment of both steels and aluminium surfaces prior to coating although they they are of particular relevance to aluminium. Etch primers include zinc for corrosion protection and an acid solution for binding the coating to the metal.

Degreasing: We use an antisilicone degreaser especially designed to remove dirt,
oils, waxes, silicone and other contaminant agents from bare metal areas before painting. This treatment can be applied automatically in the case of track line services or manually by spray gun.

Shot Blasting: Shot and bead blasting is sourced locally where required and is ideal as a pretreatment for refinishing work as well as heavily contaminated or rusted new work. Shot blasting can be carried out to Sa2.5 standards.
